Notes & Testimonials
(2024 Presidents' Day) Frontline workers, especially those in the mental health profession, need a collective voice and should unionize now! Local and national leaders agree that there is an increased demand for mental health services. With this increased demand, assaults on behavioral health workers have unfortunately doubled since 2012. Line Staff need a representative and a voice, especially when government leaders are making key decisions on such topics as physical safety. Communities often praise frontline essential workers for their dedication and service, but we must acknowledge their value with top-notch safety protocols, pay that is in line with the Department of Labor's data and fair, professional treatment at work. Professional athletes have secured their seat at the table with the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), NFL Players Association, NHL Players Association and MLB Players Association. Even college athletes have begun to unionize to receive better medical care for their injuries and for their fair share of revenues. We need to truly value our work on the frontlines and advocate for better working conditions, fair pay and benefits!
(2023 Labor Day): We just marked the sixty (60) year anniversary of Dr. King's iconic "I Have a Dream" speech and the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. It is incredible that we are still fighting for the opportunity for economic equality to this very day! There is no fair chance for economic equality when we have brothers and sisters who still suffer toxic, working conditions such as retaliation, assaults, ineffective management and racial bias. America's workers should not have to choose between providing for their families and their human dignity. And to the trolls who shrug their shoulders or turn their backs on hard-working Americans, my twenty-two (22) years in the law have shown that it is just fun-and-games until it happens to you, your loved one or find yourself embroiled in litigation. To America's Workers, please continue to voice your grievances and I will fight for you at the NLRB, EEO or in federal court!
(2022 Unions & Equity): As Loudoun County employees battled to unionize, it became clear that a union can provide a louder voice.
As the Verizon guy asks, "Can you hear me now?", perhaps we can echo with Tupac's "Hollah if ya hear me!"
